Research Project
The search for the mechanisms behind ion transport and the properties of the transporters involved in:
1) renal epithelia: mechanisms of Na+ reabsorption and Cl- secretion by tight epithelia of the distal renal tubule - effects of heavy metals
2) Xenopus laevis oocytes: investigation into the properties of the epithelial Na+ channel (ENaC) and the cAMP-activated Cl- channel CFTR by use of the oocyte expression system
